WHats the benefit to the tubular magazines? I mean they only hold 53 rounds? That's less than 2 30 round clips and they appear to be a bigger pita to use and store?

Does it matter though? Everyone understands what a clip or magazine is and neither word was ever intended to be used to describe a metal or plastic piece that is designed to hold ammunition.

It's a military thing. One of the quickest ways to have a drill sgt. stomp a mudhole in your arse and walk it dry for about half an hour is to call a magazine a "clip". Its a lesson that sticks with you forever.
