Maybe they can actually open locations in Texas now. Starbucks is fine but if I had CCs as an option I’d go there.

Unless Matt Saurage moves to Texas, I wouldn’t worry.

The reason they do it is because a lot of restaurant companies are based in Dallas. The talent is prevalent. It’s hard to get restaurant talent to uproot their family from Dallas to move to New Orleans or Baton Rouge. In order to grow your company you have to have talented restaurant business minded people nearby.

I don't think community is bad, but ultimately it's just another mass produced/roasted grocery store coffee with a regional following.

Would be a shame if it leaves. Community Coffee is/was unique in BTR and LA for being a local coffee company. Coffee has been dominated by big national companies for quite sometime. Folgers, Hills Bros, Starbucks, and so on are all over the country.

Louisiana needs to invest in itself. Schools, hospitals, roads, highways, flood control, etc.

That would mean higher taxes. Where else will you get the money?

I think they've been getting sneaky. Replaced coffee and chicory with "New Orleans Blend" to fool people. Hiding in the label that it doesn't have chicory. And the real chicory and coffee is off the shelves, here at least. I used to get it at the grocery store now I have to order it on eBay from someone in Vietnam
I am constantly looking for their KCups with chicory. It is even hard to find in Luzianne coffee now.

Does the New Orleans blend have chicory?

I don't think it does. A grocery chain up north used to sell plain chicory and I would mix it in. I hope it still does.

No different than Walk On's and Raisin Cane's doing a similar thing.
That's where the industry talent is located and if you want to grow your company that's where you need to be.

Who knows? Maybe the family is looking to sell eventually and get out of it.

If my kid has better opportunities out of state I will make sure he takes advantage of it.

This is a place that supports the elimination of the income tax with zero solutions on how to make up the revenue without it. Having additional jobs coming in ain’t helping if said companies keep getting tax breaks.

I found it on Amazon but it is never in grocery stores.

Plenty of states have no income tax and enough money. Budget better, look at how they do it. If you don't bring it in you can't spend it. Cut the tax breaks that aren't worth it. Also drop TOPS.

Local Rouses went up from $4.99 to $7.99 for same 12oz bag

Ive always felt like rouses coffee was expensive compared to everywhere else and constantly fluctuates. Can get the same for cheaper at dixie or walmart

Why would you send a kid to private school in Texas? Our public schools are worlds better than LA public schools so it is actually a good option and you will pay for it anyway in taxes if you buy a house.
