How did that name not give it away?

1.5 hours with no traffic, I imagine gameday would be a nightmare. What about driving up the night before, where is a good place to stay, walking distance to stadium with the lowest murder factor?
You’ll be able to uber to the game and on the way back(you have to walk off of campus to get out of counter flow). If one of you isn’t drinking, go early in the morning park your car at one of the frat parking lots behind the church. Then uber back to your place. You’ll have a free spot with a quick exit after a short walk.

You would NOT fit in...

Stay in nola and bus in the morning of. BR is terrible, don’t let anyone on this board convince you otherwise. UGA alumni association probably has a charter bus arranged coming in from Nola the morning of the game.

We have Indigo in downtown Athens too, very nice places. For the LSU game in Athens in 2013, the Indigo was 700/night for their cheapest room and that was six months in advance. Probably not gonna do that.

Wrong board, but...
Enjoy the trip, and it should be fun. Tailgating will be good regardless. And check out the Chimes on Highland. Also, don’t expect to get out of there with any reasonable quickness—BR is notorious on the traffic.
Also try the Pasttime under I-10 downtown.

Sheesh. I've never seen so many people trash BTR on here. There are plenty of decent hotels along I-10 @ Siegen and Bluebonnet (Courtyard, Holiday Inn Express, Hyatt Place). Good restaurants, too. Mike Andersons is fantastic. Perkins Rowe has a great atmosphere, too.
I always fly in to NOLA and stay Thurs nite there. Drive up to BTR Fri afternoon and stay along I-10 Fri and Sat. Head back to NOLA to fly out Sun.
Book your hotel in BTR now.

There are a few decent places to eat at downtown, but the night before.. If you are looking for a good place to eat, go to Ruffino's. It's on the other side of Baton Rouge, but it's good.

Stay in NO and just come up for gameday.
Stay in downtown BR.
Friday night, go to Chimes for dinner right off of campus. Expect a wait, but they have over 50 beers on tap and play the lsu fight songs throughout the night so it is a cool atmosphere.
After that, go out to 3rd street in downtown BR since you are older.
Saturday morning, wake up early and go eat breakfast at Louies on campus.
Then, walk around and tailgate and mingle with the locals.

You can stay at the Hampton Inn, which is downtown, which is about 2 or 3 miles away from campus. His is the link to Hampton Inn and information for the shuttle bus. You can take the bus and not have to worry about parking.

I think coach O is cooking his famous gumbo in TD village before the Georgia game this year

Don't waste your money on good seats. After halftime you will have your pick of any seat in the stadium.
