Get there early for tailgating. Go to Tochdown Village and walk around the RVs. Usually you will get invited to a tailgate.I'd stay in New Orleans. If you want to eat near LSU before the game The Chimes at the North Gate is my suggestion. Walk On's is closer to the stadium but not as good IMO. Traffic sucks. One of the worst in the SEC in my opinion. Have fun

1.5 hours with no traffic, I imagine gameday would be a nightmare. What about driving up the night before, where is a good place to stay, walking distance to stadium with the lowest murder factor?

Stay in New Orleans, just go to Baton Rouge for the game

Unless you want to show up an hour before kickoff just leave early and beat the traffic. Some years I've done the NO/BR thing, other times I've stayed in Hammond. Nice and quiet, not much to do but that's fine. BR itself is not a very nice place to stay so I would not recommend that.

How many days? Have you been to NOLA? If not stay in NOLA Friday. Take a rally bus to BR. Rally Bus
If you want to stay in BR I would stay at Lod Cook.
Lod CookIt's probably the only hotel in walking distance but you need to book it now if its even available.

The best part of an lsu game is the tailgating, get there several hours before kickoff and you won't have to worry about traffic.
Also if you stay til the end of the game you'll likely be the last one there so again no traffic

But you like Hammond?

You made the right decision.
My advice is to impregnate your wife ASAP and then continue to do so until you feel you’ve done your part to save Western civilization.
That’s far more important than watching a bunch of overgrown teenagers try to outrun one another.

Yeah, if you want to waste a trip to Louisiana then stay in Hammond

Didn't say I "like" Hammond, I said it's nice and quiet and closer than NO. I've only done it once but I mean it's not the worst option if OP is so concerned about traffic.

We'll likely have 2-3 losses by that point, so you can find tickets outside the stadium for nothing.

Already done, but the great white hope will not be coming. This will be a grownup trip.
He'll be yelling at the refs from his grandma's house.

Stay in NO and just come up for gameday.
Do that if you like to waste money and don’t like fun.

its not that bad. And you will have a much better time in NO. The only bad part will be leaving and making sure you are sober. But like stated they have a bus you can take.

Staybridge or Lod cook are the only 2. You could stay at L'Auberge. Or a nice downtown hotel (Hilton and Indigo are only 2 I' know of that I'd stay in) and go to Tsunami on Friday night
