Jesus dude. Who broke you?

Maybe talk to someone. This is an unhealthy reaction. Good luck centering yourself.

I think it is time consumers take a similar approach. Go on a buying strike. Stop buying new vehicles, stop the trade-ins every 3 or 4 years, stop the "gotta have it now" attitude, drive what you have until it falls apart, duct tape and wire it back together, and keep driving it. The absurd prices of new vehicles needs to be curtailed. This UAW strike will do nothing but drive those prices higher.

Make them all hungry and see what happens.

My brother works for GM, it’s an interesting situation at the moment.

Relocating out of Detroit or moving on from the UAW seems unrealistic.

Is Michigan’s Union climate just impossible to side step? Can they legally only employ union labor or something?

I’m not sure where you’re from but here in Birmingham most welders make 20 or less. It has become a supplemental trade for those wanting to make more. I love doing it but with the trade school boom about 10years ago ended with a surplus of welders willing to work more hours for a live-able wage. Now, it’s just something I do if needed instead of being my bread and butter.

If I cannot get a domestic x vehicle due to the strike.

I will buy a x import non union made vehicle made in America.

It really a balance.
Employees should be paid fairly.
Upper brass should be paid fairly.

At the end of the day the company has to produce a product, sell a product, or provide a service that produces a profit for the stock holders.

Sorry, are we supposed to stay in the bottom 50% of earners from when we're 16 to when we're 35?

Toyota and others are proof you do not need unions, and in fact produce better vehicles without them.

Their pay and benefits are good, and their CEO isn't making 250 times a line worker.

Seems like you may have some experience with this. How is the pay and benefits for this line of work?
