Property taxes are reasonable, much less than FL or TX.

I just know from my specific situation, I would get hammered there compared to my current situation in Texas.

A lot of us consider ourselves political refugees from blue states, myself from Illinois. I just helped elect the first Republican mayor in Charleston in the last 100 years.

You do realize that you need to adequately fund the government for it work properly. I'm for the lowest level of taxation to fund a proper government.

I don't really care what form it takes -- income, property, or sales tax. For me personally, as a now Houstonian, I like the Texas approach to taxation. My house is relatively inexpensive so my total tax burden is lower than it would be in say, Louisiana.

I'm not a braindead retard like the OT who cheered on like good little NPCs at the state of Louisiana telling them they are raising taxes overall on the population but since that evil income tax rate was reduced it is therefore good.

This is exactly the same as my experience and thoughts, yet you were mocking my response earlier. Interesting.

I say on every Texas property tax thread, I am way better off here than any income tax regime.

You said:

Income taxes are unfortunately high for a red state.

I was mocking this as it is just the same mindless refrain of "income tax bad". While that statement can be true, you should look at your overall tax burden and seek to minimize it.

If there is a state income tax with lower sales and property taxes, you could be better off overall.

My only point was to mock the mindless chant of "income tax bad".

Growth rankings are configured by each state’s net gain (or loss) of customers utilizing one-way U-Haul equipment in a calendar year.

I worked at U-Haul in college. Things may have changed in the 30+ years since, but customers utilizing one-way equipment does NOT equate to customers moving their families/households.
