It shouldn't surprise anyone that knows Canadians that Canadians would do this.

It seems like a prerequisite for airline employees these days is a complete lack of empathy and common sense.

Customer service is nonexistent in this sector. Airlines are basically now government agencies. Sit down and shut up

What a shitshow. The captain sounds like a complete dumbass. Basically, if someone throws up on a seat, you immediately call for hazmat/biological cleanup as soon as you arrive, and assess if anyone can or should occupy those seats on the next flight.

If it cannot be cleaned properly (which it sounds like was the case here) you MEL those seats as inoperative and have the gate agent ask for volunteers to give up their seats for a later flight.

In no fricking way do you expect passengers to sit in seats with vomit. Utterly ridiculous.

I'm not claiming it wasn't trending in this direction pre-COVID, but it certainly accelerated with mask mandates. The airlines needed FedGov cover so Alaska, AA, etc., didn't look like an outlier in enforcement of bullshite. Is it odd that passenger security events onboard dropped after the mandates were invalidated?

I’d fly Spirit or Frontier before I flew Air fricking Canada. I’ve never flown any of those.

tried to find a route back from Australia to the US via boat; unless I signed up to fish, it wasn't apparently possible.

Not many ocean liners left in operation. Which is unfortunate. But in todays world it’s all about efficiency over comfort. People want to fly there and fly back.

Long gone are the days of the road trip vacation across country or board a luxury ocean liner across the Atlantic spending a week relaxing on the boat enjoying food, gambling, and drinks.

This. Only when time doesn't allow me to drive will I fly. It's expensive, uncomfortable, and stressful. It helps that I enjoy roadtrips.

I’ve made two trips to Peoria this summer. Flew up in June and the experience was so horrible each step of the way that when I went back in August, I drove.

Driving > flying

I still enjoy the whole flying experience. I only do it for vacations and with the family. I imagine doing it weekly for work could suck.

I’ve always enjoyed flying. And I still would if the airport system still somewhat functioned.

frick air canada.... flew them from Montreal to Rome on an overnight flight. Bitch FAs kept cabin lights on, kept walking through aisles, asking for trash and other trial shite till let's call it 2-3 am local time....flight landed 7 am local. I and few other passengers fi ally asked can yall please stop...we all just want to sleep. The literal response was, "well how do you think we feel??? We've been up too!"

Yea....you get paid to be up on this flight...we paid you!!! I had taken a bunch of sleep meds and couldn't sleep and got pretty sick...my wife in turn started damn near having a panic attack...I asked for some water and was met with disgurnted sighs and eye rolls.

I'd rather fly cross the Atlantic on spirit then fly 2 hours with a fricking air Canada crew

That vomit was left thee by a trans person...they were bigots for not sitting in it. I mean that's just a blind guess, but it IS Canada after all.

The captain said they would be placed on the no fly list lmao

If he really said this in this circumstance, I hope they fire him and he is put on a no fly list.

I would have told him I didn't know about the other stuff but being put on the no fly list is BS.
