Slippy, WD-40 is not good for bike chains, because it is a degreaser. It will provide short-term lubrication for the chain, but it won't last long.
Think about how much stress and wear is put on a bike chain in daily use. You CAN use WD-40, but you shouldn't.
Good ol' Tri-flow works great, but this is the best stuff, in my opinion, if you ride lots of miles:
Whatever lubrication you use, you only want a thin coat of it.. don't be heavy handed. Put a drop in every link, and wipe clean a few times. The more lubrication you use, the more gunk you will have later. Thin layers are all you want.

1. Yes, but I would recommend specialized products for proper functioning and corrosion protection. WD-40 is good for breaking down surface rust and to free up seized machinery, but it is not so good in long term corrosion resistance or even lubrication of a bike chain over extended use. WD-40 even makes specialized bicycle products, so I would lean that way over ordinary WD-40.
2. Although it is unknown, it is highly likely to have been some sort of gravitational singularity of nearly infinite mass and temperature. A highly concentrated "primordial" plasma would make sense as it has properties in common with the other states of matter and energy. It is also possible there were physical and chemical properties that are unknown to us because they cannot exist in this universe following the Big Bang.

This, unless you like a rusty, dirty chain.
I did it in a pinch a couple of weeks ago because I couldn't find my oil. Just replaced the rusty chain yesterday because of it.
Now, it was a cheap chain and all but still.

2 i think the better question is what created the mass of marerial that preceded the big bang. Matter cannot be created, so there had to be a god creator.

2) The singularity had no mass, only energy. Its possible that an empty 'plane' of existence touched another plane that held matter and the vacuum of our plane instantaneously absorbed energy from the pre-existing plane (matter wouldn't have been able to pass from one to the other, theoretically.)
It can't be known if our physics are/were applicable to the singularity, or what existed before.

WD40 works perfectly for every bike I had as a kid and 4 the 4 bikes my kids ride. Squirt that shite anytime they haven't ridden in a while and works perfectly.

WD-40 is the worst thing you can use on a bike chain. It is not a lubricant, it is a cleaner. Get some real chain lube at a bike shop for $5.00.
