I keep waiting for progs to claim that cameras in high-crime areas are racist and disproportionally affect people of color.
Brother, that's old news. Along with the police body cams...the very ones the proggies rioted for.
They just didn't like what those body cams ended up showing the country.

Results of this?
Cameras taken down.
Police officers reassigned.
Promotion for the thug.

Seems to be Somalian, not African-American in the traditional sense.

Of course we don't want cameras. What we want is criminal penalties for such behavior to put them in prison for a very long time or public execution when such acts occur.
Government is using fear to spy or invade privacy.
Cameras can and do prevent crime, some thing that police are largely incapable of doing....unless of course they are present 24-7 like a camera. A camera is also incapable of violating one's civil rights because its having a bad day or its spouse hasn't blown it in a few weeks. A camera is incapable of over reacting and escalating every and all situations it finds itself in. Finally there is no right to expect any privacy in public spaces. Cameras are superior to police in every conceivable measure...to the point that police are largely unable to do their job without cameras while just the opposite is true of cameras.....
The goal should be to prevent crime, not make arrests. Arrests are EXPENSIVE and require a victim for the most part...someone has suffered in some manner most of the time. Prevention is infinitely superior to arrests, convictions and inarcerations and especially executions. By any metric cameras are superior to police.

The cameras are controversial because they capture the truth.
They are also color blind, they could care less about religion or sex or sexual orientation....the people who decide to indict and charge are still fallible and subject to these human shortcomings but the camera can only tell the truth. And their presence, like that of cops, prevents crimes....but a camera works 24-7, never eats, sleeps, takes a shite, gets sick or goes on vacation. Park an empty cop car in a area prone to speeding and watch what happens....suddenly folks slow down. Cops simply can not prevent crime like cameras can...they can investigate crimes, they can make arrests...but prevention should be the goal

The mayor is already calling for the cameras to be removed due to the racism that the cameras are showing. How's that for "Progress"?
Every Democrat voter is smiling ear to ear when they watch videos like this. I call these democrat voter porn for a reason. They are hoping the next 77 yo that is attacked by their foot soldiers is a member of YOUR family.

If we cared about prevention we'd still have the 3 strike rules. Repeat offenders should be executed. Now that would be real prevention.

why wasn't the other homie arrested...he threw first punch

Pointless in Seattle... No judge will hold him, no DA will prosecute him and no jury would convict him.

If you listen to the News story, they released him and now they can't find him. He has a $200,000 bond.

The 3 strike rule isn't prevention, best case scenario it is 3 failings to prevent.
