There are other smaller sites, but Twitch is the main dog and there's no one close
Edit: And there are 3 sub tiers, $4.99, $9.99 and $24.99. The streamer gets half (bigger streamers get a better cut) and twitch gets half.
Donations are different since they are usually done through other sites, but they likely get 90%+ of the donation

It's not even that, it's just interacting with that person primarily. They are creating content, just like watching your favorite T.V. show, and they make steady money from people who subscribe to them, but there are additional big fish that stop by dropping thousands for streamers they are into.
