I applied on a Friday and had it on the Next Thursday. I've heard of people waiting over a month though.

Anywhere from 4 weeks to more depending on your background. Supposedly they've been turning them out pretty quick recently.

Also need it for ports, unassisted marine vessel access etc many shipyards require it for entry as well

Took me five days IIRC. Got it filed in Kenner. PIN took another four days.

Anybody actually had to use their pin ever? I just toss the card with the pin on it. Never seen a reason why i would need it
