Friend,

Thank you. Uncle asks, "Do you remember when it was Sizzlebord, a less than stellar restaurant?"

Yours,
TulaneLSU

P.S. I do not know at which Time Saver the peerless Tom Fitzmorris worked. Lester Earl indicates that it was on Jefferson Highway in River Ridge.

Transcontinental and West Esplanade?

Used to ride our bikes there when visiting cousins. They had a cool arse arcade machine in the 80s. Cant remember the name but would get an icee, play till we were out of quarters and snag free refills Along the way.

Right cheer.

Great fishing sammiches for cheap (even if the bread stick to the roof of your mouth).

My grandma dragged us over there when it first opened. It sure was ugly in person. Yellow everywhere.

Roast Beef Po Boy

There was a little gas station on the corner of Juban Rd and Florida Blvd between Walker and Denham Springs back in the mid 90's that made some killer Po-Boys. The roast beef was by far my favorite.

Congratulations on your high status achievement in the recent posters tier level awards. Sadly, I remain one of the large herd of unknown common folk.

You missed the #1.
Corner of Broad and Fountainbleu.
That baby was robbed every month.

Great topic though.

I grew up by the Time Saver in Destrehan on Ormond Blvd next to the tracks. I remember those cups that you included AND the Halloween Icee coupons.
Best memories:
Riding bikes to the Time Saver for snacks/Hubigs Pies
Collecting all of the NFL Icee Cups
Meeting up with people in the parking lot as we began to start driving around town.
Paying for gas with a handful of nickels!

Damn the 80’s and 90’s were the best!

Do you know if they were still making quality Po-Boys before closing?
