Weather Channel now calling for rain Saturday and Saturday night. I don't know how accurate they are, but they changed the track of Raphael from the one posted in this thread.

What service IS accurate? I've looked at the US Weather Service and Accuweather, and neither is very reliable.

Friend,

How this became a stickied topic much less a topic at all is inconceivable to me. Front Day is over two weeks behind us, closing the tropical season for New Orleans. I guess the NHC was desperate for some additional funding because its budget will soon be on the chopping block under Trump, so someone decided to make some maps showing it would hit Louisiana. Such foolishness.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

So the rain in the forecast for Saturday is or isnt related to this storm? When I look it looks like the storm is punking out in the face of Whit Weeks but still showing considerable rain chances for Sat? Is that weather unrelated to whats in the Gulf? Sorry if asked already.

Wrong.

We anxiously await Front Day. Never early, never late.

This Gulf storm is just more evidence that your heretic Front Day was a fraud.

Sincerely,

Cold front coming through that will pull moisture from the Gulf. It's most likely going to rain Saturday evening.

I’m near Amarillo and the front that’s coming through New Mexico is pulling moisture from the gulf ahead of it. So this could be the weather maker for La this Saturday.
