Yeah. He’s wrong. LC had 15” in about 8 hours.

I work offshore and my vehicle is at the Lake Charles air port at the ERA heliport. Should I have my wife go get it? Does the airport area flood with the amount of rain forecasted?

In some areas it was less than 8 hours. IIRC the areas around Lake and McNeese all the way to Gauthier Rd got that in like 4 or 5 hours

That Southern most area coming off Africa could be interesting.
Definitely keeping an eye on that one

The roads in the airport area are susceptible to flash flooding but I think you car should be fine at the airport. I don’t recall hearing about vehicles flooding at the airport for the flood in May of this year.

Thanks Tigerfan......
No problem. I don’t live all that far from the airport.

This thing isn’t sticking around to drop that kind of rain anyway.

I just realized there is a storm. Where is it going?
Posted on 9/12/21 at 10:10 am to Tiger Ryno
Yea, that was Tropical Storm Beta. And a year earlier we had Imelda.
The difference this time is it could slow its progress down in the gulf and really become a mean motor scooter, with formidable rain totals and high winds. Hurricane Nicholas is a bad dude!

That thing will be in the same sport for 4 days

Just on an interesting side note, the 06Z GFS tries to spin up an inland hurricane over Iowa and Kansas in about ten days.
ETA: I hope that big line of storms it develops from goes away soon.

The 12Z GFS pulls Nicholas back West a bit, making landfall just across the state line in TX. It takes it down to 991mb with a more direct approach to land.
