Well that is not good if we stay at this pace. That is some solid rain out there

He doesn't have enough arm strength left for any bombs like this.

I don't know exactly what you mean, but you can search the NWS or NOAA weather stations near you. Those stations update hourly on a 36ish hour rolling table/chart. Just search for NOAA stations near your city or town.

Wunderground lets you see people's weather station information, particularly those around you. According to those, BR got anywhere from 4-6" today (I assume 24 hour totals)

2.5” in my non-scientific Lowe’s range gauge yesterday. 3” today. And it just rained again

Yeah it just came down in massive spurts. It was either pouring down or barely raining (or not at all), not much in between.

That fricking cell this afternoon dumped enough water for the next three months.

So Nick headed back to the gulf before coming back through Louisiana? What a dick!

The Advocate has some Twitter links of street flooding videos in BR. Looks like the LSU/City Park area received a lot of rain yesterday.

the rain was really weird... I drove home from work last night around 7:30pm. On I-10 westbound, it was coming down in a huge deluge, nobody trying to go over 50 mph. Parts of the interstate had some areas of water standing, like things were about to flood.

About 3/4th of the way home, I came to the edge of that. My last 2-3 miles once off the interstate, roads were practically dry, and I didn't need wipers... wasn't even misting on the windshield. I know rainstorms do that, but I thought rain bands were more continuous. And I was driving South to North, the band should have been approaching where I was headed.

Not only was the rain hard it had a soft oily quality. I know this sounds odd. When I left Walmart and ran for the car,the water almost beaded up on me and the grocery cart. It reminded me of mixing baby oil and water. (no requests for photos or anything else)
