The may storm was a freak local event. I only got 7” while my office in LC saw 12+.
This will be similar in that there will be big drop offs in total precip within a few miles. No way to tell where exactly until it is happening.
Just hope for some backside dry air.

Is there a updated rain totals map out? This is start to feel like Nicholas is going to a complete a-hole for just about all of South Louisiana....

It bothers me that they don’t update those rainfall graphics with the advisories.

I hope it doesn't do what that May storm did but I will say I bought out a mitigation company a few weeks ago right before Ida. Already using it in Hammond. May have to move the equipment back to LC.

So this thing is really going to just ride the coast? The disrespect.

I swear I had no idea there was a storm because there was no sticky here. I just kept hearing it was going to rain a couple of days.
Power outages coming. Over 30,000 without power in Houston already.

Crawl across the coast dumping rain, it appears. Really damn disrespectful

I believe it it does that most of the heavy rain will miss me here in Alvin….so far rain has been steady, nothing extremely heavy but the wind gusts have definitely picked up. Power blinking on and off so im hoping that stays on.
Granted the worst isn’t here yet so it could turn ugly in a hurry.

The 00z HRRR was, suboptimal for all of Louisiana south of I10, but lets put a pin in that as an outlier.
The 00z 3kNAM put over 12" across the bayou parishes and spotty big total across the Louisiana coast.
The FV3 had similar spots of rainfall pushing a foot along the Louisiana coast, and specifically SELA.
Enough there to think some parts of Louisiana are going to break a foot of rain. Just, you know, always a motherfricker to figure out exactly where.

What is the difference between the various NAMs?

Which part of Houston?

It is the resolution at which they are ran.
