Non-compliance, an overly talkative po po, and the internet = two scoops of stupid.

The cops actions should be reviewed objectively.
The play by play was just dumb.

I like these people who refuse to comply with a police officer’s orders to get out of the vehicle, and then say “I’m not resisting”

The greatest pandemic in this country in the year 2020 isn’t Covid-19. It’s just plain stupidity, and many there be that are infected with it. The worse however, are those infected with stupidity but think they’re being smart.

But I strongly disagree that if you're iffy on whether potentially innocent people have to comply with insane directions of batshit crazy police officers - you're "what's wrong with this country."

Wasn't innocent.

so "get out of the car" is an insane request from a police officer during a routine traffic stop?

What the frick is wrong with you?

You can't just ignore an officer when you get pulled over. Really doesn't matter why you got pulled over, but this dumbass was driving with an expired registration and inspection sticker, and smelled of weed. I understand they didnt' find drugs in his car, but there's no mistaking that disgusting smell, and it sticks on you well after you've smoked it.
This dumbshit could have followed the instructions of the officer, knowing he didn't have weed in his car, let them search it, find nothing, get his ticket for the registration, and been on his way. Instead, he chose to act like a victim and ended up in jail.

Idiot black people like this think that this only happens to them, that white people are never pulled over for dumb reasons just so a dipshit cop can look for something to get them on. It's what happens when you're young, doesn't matter if you're white, black or brown. I've been pulled over 3 times as a teenager where i did nothing wrong, had my car searched, found nothing, and didn't even get a ticket, all b/c some dipshit cop was hoping to stop some young white kid thinking i'd have some drugs on me, which i did not.

What’s “insane” about “step out of the car”?

Whoa TH03 with a contrarian take

Except this board has the contrarian take on this.

This cop is a psycho regardless of what the driver did.

The weak minded are the only one's that think that is a problem.

Imagine being that ignorant. Always excuses, no accountability or responsibility.

I don't disagree with this. He went overboard some but all this would have been alleviated if the man would've gotten out of the car.

Hell, we wouldn't have a thread on it.

Douche bag cop.

Who knows what transpired prior to the video starting, but that officer handled that like a roided out idiot.

Only thing he did wrong was play it up to the camera, but he was 100% within his rights (as far as LA is concerned anyways).

100%. I'm always on the side of "live to fight the cop in court, not on the street."

But that cop lost his cool and went full abusive father on the guy when that level force wasn't necessary.

Everyone is an a-hole here, but only one of them is supposed to be trained to act better than he did.

There's no way the cop would've just given the guy a ticket. Stopped due to expired registration - driving with a suspended license gets the guy a ticket, someone to come pick him up and the car likely impounded. The driver knew he was in deep shite once that trooper found out he was driving with a suspended license.

The cop was unprofessional, the driver was guilty as hell and non-compliant with an officers demands.

This is where empathy comes into play. A cop asking me to step out of my car causes me (and most on this board) much less distress than it does to a young black man asked to step out of his car. That fear is literally at the ROOT of the entire BLM movement. That fear is deeply ingrained in him by decades of police abuse and profiling against black people. He wasn't documenting to be an a-hole, it was the only tool of protection he had at his disposal. And, of course, he was right....the claim that there was weed in the car turned out completely false meaning he was being removed from his vehicle without cause.

I think he should've gotten out of the car with the camera rolling, which still offers him protection, but I understand his fear, frustration, and disgust with the officers that led him to resist.

If this happened this year that cop would’ve been fired.

Inspection stickers etc are loopholes for government to take your money and cops to harass you.

Write him a ticket or tow his car. The weed thing was probably made up so they could ravage through the vehicle.

and he was offered that MULTIPLE times by the officers. I understand where you are coming from but at some point, people have to assume some personal responsibility and stop acting like petulant children
