Saw this on my twitter feed this morning. This was before my time so I had no clue, just interested to see how many people here answer it correctly.

I’ll post answer in a little bit

Fans to kühl dem guts.

Early computers were notoriously over-supplied with power to eliminate the potential of issues from low power.

I bet you could put a phone handset on it and use it like a primitive fax.

Or stick both hands down in there and bash everything cause it’s a slow POS.

Here is answer

For those of you under 30 years old: The round holes on top of that word processing machine we're a primitive modem. You put the ends of a telephone handpiece into the holes and it exchanged information with a PC back home. Plain text only. At about a half-sentence per second.

That's where you put the phone. It's the modem interface.

That's where you put the phone so it could tell your boss if you had been typing about college football all day instead of doing your job.
