Trimming the Fat in Louisiana Higher Education (Aside from SUNO)

4-Year Graduation Rates for 2-Year Colleges & 6-Year Graduation Rates for 4-Year Colleges
IF Louisiana does indeed reach a critical point with it's annual state budget projections, which appears to be almost inevitable barring some unforeseen alteration to the state constitution or some wisdom on the part of the state legislature to pursue other revenue streams (e.g. legalize marijuana, expand gambling, impose an excise tax, implement a sliding tax for gasoline in the wake of dips in the global petrochemical market), this state's leaders are going to have to make some unpopular decisions.
Nobody wants their alma mater or current institution shut down, but the fact is that not all higher education institutions are created equal. Some give more than they take, and others take MUCH more than they give.
I have decided to contrast how graduation rates for all public institutions stack up to their allotted state budgets in order to more accurately determine which colleges are just a drain on the state economy. I have emboldened the schools that, in my humble opinion, should require some immediate examination if the aforementioned apocalyptic scenario comes to fruition.
According to data compiled by the NCES Integrated Postsecondary Educaiton Data System (IPEDS) and the U.S. Department of Education, here are the 6-year graduation rates for 4-year public universities.
In addition, each institution's supplementary budget allocation total according to the Louisiana State Legislature 2015-16 Fiscal Year Projections are listed to the right of the respective graduation percentage.

don't people who transfer to colleges with more credits elsewhere not count towards that institutions graduation rate or something? I'm pretty sure this is what happens to schools like UNO

Pretty crazy that LSU, Tech and ULL are the only ones with graduation rates above 40%.

Graduating in 4 years is NF

i'm not saying it's not low, but i think because of the way some of the counting is done it's not AS low as it looks

They should stop measuring success by 4-year graduation rates. Fewer and fewer people graduate in four years.

Louisiana also needs to trim the fat in general. Looks like disney world everywhere you go.

Those are 6 year graduation rates.

That's why it's a 6-year duration for four-year universities. A number of degree programs require at least nine semesters to complete.

I thought this was about the problem of fat coeds.

How the hell does Southeastern have a $100m budget?

When I was applying to UNO, I saw some pretty abhorrent things going on in there. People who didn't know how to work computers, could barely read, or couldn't come up with where they went to HS or their annual income were applying.
The secretary had to get up multiple times just to help people fill out applications. It took me about 10 minutes, and she said one lady had been there for 2 hours.
Those types of people absolutely should not be admitted to a college or university

Shut the MF down
This is the place where people go to test out college. If they like it they stay, if not, no loss to there pocket book.

The non-LSU schools have ridiculously low standards. A kid who makes it into ULL or UNO with an 18 isn't doing himself or the state any favors when he attends school for a semester or two and drops out. The ACT requirements should be 22-23+ across the board.

3rd largest school in the state, right?
