My sister's family and I go to my parent's house every Halloween and her kids like trick or treating there. Ton of nice people walking around and hanging by their houses and the kids get a ton of candy. It's always fun.

Guess this is another OT idiot whining about absolutely nothing. Same shite, different toilet.

We need Trick-OR-Treat ID laws to stop this now.

Trick or Treaters coming from other neighborhoods

Had a ton of kids from other neighborhoods come to our house.

Almost without exception, they were polite and said "thank you" or "Happy Halloween".

Most of the parents even said "thank you" or Happy Halloween.

Gave away a shite ton of candy, and had a blast.

My wife and I do a pretty elaborate yard scene with Freddy, Chucky, the It Clown, a huge spider and web as well as various other things.

Many parents asked if they could take pix or film their kids and of course we were elated.

Some people don't get into it and that's ok, turn your lights off and do your thing.

As for us, we're going bigger and better next year!

common in nicer neighborhoods. Many big neighborhoods have parties and all kinds of people come.

for example near the lake in Lake Charles were I live....you get all the kids that live in the gov projects along lake st.

im good with it, so long as they are respectful. last night they were very nice, said thank you and thats about all i can ask for. they are kids...i want them to enjoy that and think about how nice the people are in those neighborhoods and hopefully set goals to one day live in a place like that and break the cycle.

We love it when kids from other subdivisions come to ours for trick or treat.

What we don't love are the idiot parents that won't walk with their kids, but instead will drive their cars behind the kids with the brights on while also going through all of the groups of kids. Pisses me off to no end. Damn near run over large groups of kids because you are a lazy frick.

So we'll see you on the money board looking for advice on how to finance college soon?

The thing that irks me about neighborhood largesse (Halloween, Christmas parties, etc.) is like being on an airplane. If there is a depressurization, you put your mask on first, then help others around you.

There is a constant cycle of OT'ers that complain about money, but continue to blow money on other people, and not saving in a 529, but going to 30A, buying $300 worth of candy for randos. My ex FIL didn't have shoes for years as a kid. I'm clearly a product of a depression era family, which is an over correction, but damn. You people are nuts.

or maybe spome of us aint poor AF like you apparently are.

Saving for college for many of us...college is cheap compared to private school. LSU is less than 12k per year.......like i said same or cheaper than private school even before scholarships.

you sound poor AF if you cant afford candy for kids on holloween.

This...we kept a count had 319 kids come by and myself and Mrs Anti sat outside and had a ball. We do it every year. Kids come from all over to our neighborhood it's safer here and it's kind of a tradition. A lot of them are local too.

They are in a situation where they can’t trick or treat where they live, whether it be an apartment, rural area, or area of high crime. If they are coming to genuinely trick or treat and not cause violence or theft, then it is fine.

I had a few visits from people outside of the subdivision. They were all very nice, appreciative, and respectful.

this gets on my nerves too. mainly fat AF too. only thing that bothers me.

ill be honest if they are the only ones that come up and its without parents, i tell them take one. if they parents are there...i say take 1 handful. i know its kind of a dick move but man....dont be lazy AF and drive your car through all the groups of kids.

i guess i feel like that cause my boys are out by themselves walking around with friends.

It was bad in our hood last night. At one point it was four cars in a row just driving through the areas that were busiest. All extremely overweight moms following one or two kids. It was clearly where everyone was walking. We have an empty lot people from other places can park, but nope. Would blast ratchet rap music, brights on, driving through the hordes of kids so they didn't have to walk. Just fricking rude as shite.

Our neighborhood finally got wise and hired 3 cops for the evening to just keep things flowing. I don’t mind all the TOT’ers but last year was a zoo. The main problem was cars and freaking golf carts going way to fast and almost hitting a few kids. It went from uncontrolled chaos to just festive chaos and I’m cool with that.

Slow night, 16 kids. Wind was brisk and large wet snow flurries were flying.

Kids probably live in apartments, a shitty neighborhood that nobody passes candy out in, or not in a neighborhood at all. As long as they’re respectful, who cares if they don’t live in your neighborhood?

But its kind of annoying to see the parents that just drive in their car down the street as the kids go door to door. Park the car somewhere and get out and spend time walking with your kids. Most of those parents could use the exercise

I’m good with any kids going safely ToT anywhere, except the 4 adults with the newborn strapped on momma’s chest walking around with a pillowcase asking for candy for the baby. Go buy your damn own candy.
