NEW: Travis County is banning outdoor gatherings of more than 100 people.

Penalty is $1000 fine.

Reminder:

97% of all known super spread events (5+ infected) are indoors.

The stupidity of these officials is beyond comprehension

Never been to a concert or sports ball game? Perhaps the opera or theater?

Abbott himself has given them the go ahead in the big 4 counties. He's talked about it all week. he just doesn't want to do the heavy lifting because of how it will appear to his image.

I'm waiting for UT to be the first Big 12 football domino to fall which will almost certainly reverb across the country.

AC is thought to be the cause of the rapid increase in spread in southern states. The infectious disease expert mentioned it yesterday as its a prevailing thought among scientists but cautioned there is no scientific studies saying yes or no. All they have is a handful of anecdotal instances where they believe AC caused the spread

Here is an article discussing a little of that. Although it mentions turning the AC off which is not going to happen in the south. LINK

Not an infectious disease expert but I doubt that. It’s young people in bars and parties engaging in all of things people usually do at bars or parties. Especially while on vacation.

Does this mean we can ban Texans from coming into Louisiana this time?

And I'll keep going to bars unless they are shut down. I'm not sacrificing my freedoms because I have a 0.01% chance to die from a virus.

Not at all. Actually, forget Texas fora second. Wait until Florida cases keeps rising and you'll likely see Florida football be the first domino in the SEC. The NBA's plan is still fluid in that state as well. just is what it is.
