Im not sure I understand the point of this thread. Yes, office jobs are typically easier on the day to day.

I work way harder in the office than I did in the field. Different kind of work but still can be rough

I have an office job and many times find myself wishing that I just had a job where I didn't have to think too much about things all the time.

I don’t think he literally means nothing. But when your working labor your whole life getting an office job is absolutely like retiring.

There are plenty of office jobs that require basically no skill at all.

As a CPA, I can say that people never make these sorts of comments around me. They know they can't do what I do.

I am not saying what you do isn’t important. But if you spend 2 weeks doing what you do and 2 weeks being a hand for a labor job….what you do doesn’t really make you tired or your body hurt. As an old man it sounds like he is ready for some office “work”

Physicality is not the only thing that makes a job “hard”.

And hell yes office jobs can make you tired, stressed, and exhausted. I make difficult decisions everyday that involve very large sums of money and often have to basically take money out of my coworkers pockets when I decide the deal isn’t going to happen.

I don’t expect sympathy as I’m compensated fairly but it’s not “easy”, despite the fact that I actually don’t really have a tangible work product in a traditional sense

Just ask him the difference between hlookup and vlookup

Problem works itself out.

I see people like him all the time. I'm hiring for technical professionals but I get applicants who have spent their career in the field and want a job that they think will be easy to coast. Not interested. I need people who can do more than check their email.

Done that sort of work before.

It's much easier.

Body starts breaking down with too much heavy work. Office work puts off the breakdown.
