Events like this are not what Jesus had in mind when he decided to die for our sins.
Then he shouldn't have risen from the dead to put on a bunny costume and hand out chocolate eggs.

This is how I imagine most OT parents would act

It wasn't his decision. It was the will of the Father.

From Conneticut! You'd expect this kind of thing from white people from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama.

Orange, CT is 95% white and has a median household income of 79K.
There were a 1,000 people according to another article (even less were kids) and 9,000 eggs. There was plenty for everyone if people knew how to act.

The key difference between yankees and rednecks is affluence and the arrogance that comes with it, spend some time in the NE and you'll see what I mean
ETA: I was visiting some of my brother's friends in Greenwich one time I and saw some white goober threaten to whip the arse of a fast food worker for putting mustard on his burger, then drive off in a Maserati

Class, as in behavior isn't defined by socio-economic data.

I'm more surprised when people don't act like feral monkeys these days.

We are slipping inexorably into a new Dark Age, in which the barbarians will once again force the civilized few into the cloister.

People are fricking idiots. Its Easter.. Its an Easter egg hunt.. For kids.. that a company held for free. For young kids I know parents have to help them, but at a certain age all parents should be doing is standing on the sidelines, not taking it serious and just enjoy watching their kids have fun. Instead, parents want their kid to be the one to get the top prizes or want to be able to say their kid was the one who did some irrelevant shite because people are fricking petty. What the hell are they teaching their kids by doing this?
