Siesta Key

Interesting.

I have spent a lot of time down in Bradenton on projects and stopped by the beach and it was green but kind of murky. It must clear up better south to Siesta Key. I keep this in mind for future reference.

Lido Key in Sarasota was pretty close last year. That was the best combo of beach, water, and lack of trash I’ve seen so far. Beach was the best, water was neck and neck with Destin/30a, trash was far below anywhere else. Might’ve caught it on a good day.

I believe any of these beached in terms of clear water can get murky with persistent rain. Heck, even Bahamian and Caribbean beaches get murky with heavy rain and those are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The key for clear water is a good week without rain. If you can get that in may or june the temps are right you'll get good clear water, no seaweed and few jellies.

Pensacola gets trashy quick with the fresh out of boot camp sailors.

It is humorous that we are the only Gulf state without any usable beaches.

Simple rule. Do not go to any beach west of Gulf Shores until you get to North Padre Island.

If inclined, you can feed the rats Fritos at the jetty alond the seawall in Galveston- they will appreciate.

You can watch a pregnant woman with a 5 year old catch a fish in contaminated water at Gulport.

You can enhale the aroma of dead fish while getting a nice view of oil derricks near Biloxi.

Or you can just avoid the whole area.

You should try drinking a Free Mason while catching trout on Free Mason...

Fourchon Pre - Katrina. People would just leave all their trash on the beach. Total just don’t give a frick.

Fourchon > Grand Isle

It’s a shame it’s not open anymore. But yes, the trash was bad.

Wouldn’t that be in the water?

Ship Island, but I wouldn't recommend taking that slow boat. I rather drive the extra two hours to Pensacola.

Lido’s nice, as are all the beaches in the Sarasota area- but Siesta Key is on a different level.. Perfect combo of wide, white quartz sand beach with turquoise water... Consistently voted #1 beach in America.. Of course, along with all this over the years have come the crowds.. there’s lots of free parking, but hard to find a spot.. Best solution is to rent a condo on the beach or, as i do, simply dont go on the weekends.. whenever i visit, i block out Thursday and/or Friday as beach days, and on the weekend enjoy the many other amenities Sarasota has to offer- St Armands Circle, Mote Marine, etc.

I honestly did not know that Louisiana even had a beach.
Louisiana has a grand slam of beaches and all are trashy...Holly Beach, Grand Isle, Elmers Island and Fourchon Beach. Though it might just be considered a trashy trifecta now since the bridge that leads to Fourchon beach was torn down.

Yeah, I want to go with Holly Beach, but the time I watched skanky strippers with giant c section scars fight each other over $100 bills dangling from fishing outriggers, and the crowd that egged them on, was one of the trashiest things I've ever seen.

Dude must be able to see 70 miles or so. I think it’s at least 50 miles to Curlew pass from BSL, usually 65 or abouts to the rigs...
