Have a "daddy date" with kid #1 frequently.
Go out and do something fun with just the 2 of you.
#2 gonna get a lot of attention because he/she can't do themself.

Transition? You just handle it. There’s no method. You will no longer have free time unless you have wonderful grandparents at your disposal

I have 2 that are almost 2 years apart. They're 18 and 20 now. I don't remember any big changes after the second one came. It gets better when they can entertain each other.

You're about to go from double coverage to man-to-man defense. Whey you're by yourself you're going to have to switch it up to zone coverage.
Good luck baw. You can do it. Just like the rest of us.

a week of adjustment for the older child

“Mama can you put him down for his nap now?” Was a frequent request.

Now they’re best buds but still argue over toys and things. Hoping that gets better with time.

spend some quality time with your oldest because their world is also getting turned upside down
let them know they're still special

Divide and conquer. And get snipped. 2 is enough unless you really don't wanna life

It's tougher than the transition from 0 to 1.

Bigger jump going from 1 kid to 2 than 0 kids to 1.

Your first at the newborn stage is full of so much adrenaline and hope and fun
Adding a newborn when you have a toddler bouncing off the walls is just straight insanity

Luckily we're at 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 now so they play together and no more diapers

I'm about to go from 3 to 4. 1 to 2 is no change. 2 to 3 can be tough, but get into a routine and you'll be alright.

Just leave the second kid at the hospital.
See if they’ll take back the first.

Congratulations
We have two and they're 2.5 years apart. My advice is get sleep when you can and during nap time spend some 1 on 1 time with the oldest. The first year and a half can be tough on the older sibling.
