Because the kids don't give enough of a shite to do anything besides whisper "gross" behind their back. It's the parents and adults that are usually the ones causing trouble.
The prom king my senior year was the flamingest flamer ever but everybody loved him because he was hilarious. There was a tranny 2 years older as well and nobody really cared.

I think most kids don't really care and will adjust to anything. Might be a few comments but most will leave well enough alone. It's the seeking of attention and forced acceptance that most people get irritated about.

The fact that the transgender mental illness is a "thing" is disheartening. I place all the blame on Bruce Jenner and the media.
How I wish these people would stay in the shadows and my only awareness that they exist would be if I wanted to get a good laugh and watch the cross dressers on Bourbon street during Mardi Gras.
I should have been born in the WWII generation at least now my life would be winding down and I wouldn't have to be exposed to such a mental illness and the media shoving it down my throat as though I'm the abnormal one.
This world has gone mad.
