Now, i know there will be a crowd that will victimize the criminal and act like it’s ok because the store has insurance.

Who is victimizing the criminal? My concern is John Wayne customer shooting in a public space. More potential for bad outcomes than catching some dudes who stole some merchandise from Tractor Supply.
And unless they are hiring that customer as the private security for that location, it doesn’t send that message. It does send a message to everyone that there are thieves out and about and even more stupid individuals who will start shooting to protect a corporations property they have no vested interest in.

What the hell can you steal at Tractor Supply that is worth a shootout? Large bags of dog food? Generic weed killer concentrate? Spare tires for a trailer?
These guys deserve to spend some time in the hole to think about how their lives are obviously lost.

The stores won’t take down shoplifters anymore. But there are a lot of baws that will do it for free to help keep public order. That’s not a bad thing.
