Didn't know Toyota still made them. They were wildly popular in the 80s though.

I thought they were discontinued in 1986.

Also, the chassis is made by BWM, the engine is BMW, its built in an austrian plant right along side the BMW Z4, and theres a BMW emblem on the VIN. The steering wheel is from an F Serie BWM with a Toyota badge and the warning chimes are from late 2000's BMW.

At least you are self aware.

I guarantee I know more about the 2JZ GE/GTE than you do, and I guarantee that my dog knows more about the B58 than you do, despite the weird copy-paste in your next post. Reread your original post, and if you can't identify the bright neon light that exposed your dumbassery, then you are even less car-savvy than I gave you credit for.

Stay in the shallow water.

Tons of built 1000+ HP B58 "v6's" out there. You can be over 600 with just a DP and fuel pump if you get a little wild with the tune. Good times

Off topic

But I really want a gr Corolla, first car I bought with my own money was a 2010 Corolla for 13k. Paid it off and tried to figure out how to throw a turbo on it, which after thorough reading, was not a good idea.

Everything I've seen is that the Lexus LFR is supposed to be at least $250,000. Definitely not the same category buyer as a Supra. That's Porsche 911 Turbo money.

Pricing is likely to be well over $250k and more like a GT2RS than a Turbo S. It sits more in the LFA area than anything else. Unless SM becomes a big driver it will likely be a slow seller like the LFA. One of those great cars nobody wanted.

Shame, because it was possibly the best sounding car ever made (or one of them).

Honorable mention: 355 (when it isn’t on a lift)

The 1LR-GUE is a jewel of an engine. It does have an incredible sound, like a baby F1 engine from the 3L NA 10 cylinder era. The exhaust note was tuned by Yamaha's music division. The parts list and construction are what you get when you send engineers into a bunker and execute all the bean counters.

As for the best sounding Ferrari I would say the 458 Italia and 360 Stradale have the best V8 sound, and the 812 Competizione has the best V12 sound. For me, flat plane V8s are hard to beat, like God ripping a phone book when they are full song.

You’re correct. The 80s will always be 20 years ago.

Attainable sports cars could actually become extinct by 2040. At least Porsche is putting ICE back in the next 718 models. Electric roadsters are not really sports cars. It will be interesting to see how much longer Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini will still produce ICE and ICE hybrids. EU regulations could eventually kill these brands.

As a rwd sports car fan, I've always loved the Supra. I got a BRZ because that was in my price range, but when I was shopping I was always fantasizing about the Supra.
