I know where to avoid now until there is a white restaurant list as well.

Not sure what you mean by this. Do you mean "white" restaurants all serve the same types of food, or the ones featured in the "black" list do, as in it'd about style of food and not color of patrons?
Either way it's irrelevant given the wording of the list. Had they made a list of the Top 20 "Soul Food" places (or whatever euphemism you want to come up with for predominately black ethnic food) then there would almost certainly be very few complaints. But that's not what they did. They made a list of places frequented by black people and made no reference to the types of food served...just the color of their patrons.
Likewise, if there was a list that purported to be where "White NOLA Eats" people would see it as racially exclusionary and would not give any credence to the suggestion that the list was about cuisine, and would laugh at anyone attempting to suggest such a thing.
The problem is that for decades we've become so accustomed to this double standard that even pointing it out at this point is an uphill battle. You refuse to even acknowledge the hypothetical because it wouldn't make any sense, even though it would just be the exact same thing in reverse.

This is just pitiful and sad. No other way to characterize the blatant racism it takes to create lists of this type.

I think its an odd way to list the restaurants white people want to avoid.

Chicken and Watermelon has some serious wings. The fish fry ones are the best IMO. But they’re like the Baskin and Robbins of wings with like 30 something flavors

Wasn’t there a whole civil rights movement where people wanted African Americans to be integrated into society? Now they only want Blacks to shop and eat at Black owned restaurants. The world has gone full circle.

It is good. They have expanded the menu to include more than catfish, potato salad and sliced white bread.

What awesome racist horse shite
Does that mean the next white mayor will list the best white places to eat? What would be wrong with it?

Do you think only black people eat at these places? Number 1 ALWAYS has more white people. Not all of these places are in the hood.

but it's just a list saying the most popular restaurants blacks like to eat at in the city, what about that segregates them from whites? What if a black tourist wanted to visit the city and wanted to know where people of his/her own culture like to go. Is that racist?
Here is my thing. Are white people allowed to have their own culture? Imagine a list for white tourists to go to so they can be around other white people veiled in the fallacy of white "culture."
We both know that would never fly today and that's what's so hypocritical to most white people I know.
