Why did you edit your post?

You posted....

You're saying the posters on this board from nola wanted this?

Pretty much this entire thread did

I know lnchbox supported the original 2 weeks. It was almost unanimously supported on this site. Me and scruffy got raked over the coals for being against it

I never supported that shite.

Everybody fricking hates you
Downvoted.

Coming from a poster that hates Mardi Gras that’s saying something.

If we went back and reviewed some of the earlier threads, I would bet that many of the more ardent anti-shutdown voices on here were at one time very supportive of the shutdowns.

No - since a lot of NOLA works in the hospitality industry - I don’t think people were ever for shutting anything down

These shut downs have screwed a lot of people over and it hasn’t helped a damn thing.

You two really hijacked this thread to argue over nothing.

It’s possible to have supported a short lockdown almost a year ago and to have wanted things to open back up a long time ago.

The vast majority of hospitality industry folks are hardcore libs that actively support the shutdowns and are only mad because they aren’t getting bigger government checks.

Trust me I know several just like this.

We let governmental chicken little's destroy the best economy since the boom after WWII. It is unforgivable.

The general consensus was "if we dont do this, it can harm all of us because hospitals wont be able to treat you if you have a car wreck etc etc"

The hospitals in Nola were close to being overwhelmed in the beginning. Id say I underestimated how spineless all our politicians would be in not letting this spiral out of control. Won't ever make that mistake again

ETA I'd also like to see what exactly I said back then. I'm sure you have screen grabs, so feel free to post

ETA 2: Just did a little digging and on 3/27 I was already talking about extreme government overreach. There was one post on the 16th or so where I responded to a post about some restrictions in the Northeast saying if they worked they would be all,, but that was the closest I've found to me supporting it. I think you may be gaslighting me

I am saying that the vast majority of them wanted shutdowns (that can be at any time over this previous year) and because of that initial support/backing this is the inevitable outcome.

Whether they currently like it or not is irrelevant.

Their support led to this, therefore they support this.

It is a convoluted roundabout way to lay the blame at their feet.

So you're saying because a nola poster supported a 2 week shutdown a year ago that same person is also supporting shutting down every bar, to go drinks and social gatherings for Mardi Gras?

It's gotta be both? Not allowed to support one and not the other?

no doubt....they dont wanna go back to work....they're making more money sitting at home....going to bed at a decent time and not having to work like a dog 12 hour shifts 6 days a week

I dont think we have any of those people that post here

Wonderful - I know some who are the opposite. What is your point?
