I work with a few quite regularly and they manage hundreds of others. A lot of them have a God Complex. They think they are above everyone else.
It's a bizarre phenomenon.
It is funny to look at the different personalities that seem to filter into different medical specialties. Pediatricians are the kind people, plastic surgeons often vain, cardiologists I've found are sterile and nerdy (often Indian), etc.
