BALL: Baum Road. Several people directed us to this house. It’s some of the worst damage we’ve seen.

Tornadoes aren't the only thing to worry about. Straight line winds as well as microbursts in these severe systems can be extremely dangerous to drive in and not predictable at all. So, even without a tornado warning you can still be put in a bad place driving in one of these systems.

How many kids were killed driving to school in tornadoes in Louisiana, before we started preemptively canceling schools the day before on the chance that some might come through?

That's the thing. People are so sue happy now, and schools are so scared of liability, that they have to do these closings.

Blame it on society...and people in Louisiana not knowing how to deal with weather.

They didn't know that it would move through sooner than expected. Last time we had this kind of weather set up, something like 10 tornadoes hit in La with three being severe.

That was a surprise event too. It wasn't expected to be dropping tornadoes like that until it was literally ongoing.

The schools that didn't straight up cancel (crazy) made the right call. Line was supposed to be slower, those on the Northshore that caught the bowing section can tell you it was rough. EBR seems to have thread the needle and the cluster of storms out front never got spinning.

System next week might have a good punch too but models are divergent in impact. Euro not nearly as dynamic as GFS but now that the Rockies have a good snow cover, should be seeing stronger cold blasts coming with the cold fronts.

That shite was intense. But luckily where I'm working in Spanish Fort, there was no tornadoes. Just very heavy wind and rain.

It was a brick gable on the end that fell over.

YA Tittle would have his kids go to school with a tree through the building. No big deal

It doesn't get light outside until like 6:30 here, and with all of that rain, I guess he thinks the meteorologists on each bus would be able to predict where each tornado will be going with their eyes closed
