I am coming in from Raceland so I guess coming on I10 and get off the veterans exit would be the best way.

Levee gonna be topped or break. River is too high already. Should have opened the Morganza.

Depending on location, anywhere from 3.75 to 6 inches

This is bonus as its not counted on the storm rain totals.

stolen from the Barry thread... if the levees in NOLA are at 20 feet... and the Miss. River is now going to rise to 20 feet... am I the only 1 concerned here?
I would wager heavily on a location where northbound storm surge meets south bound river flow creating a different path through a levee below new orleans...

morganza would not reduce strain on levee enough to forestall storm surge impact.

Ha. It’s a giant pit if lies.

Today should bring a call for accountability from everyone involved in the sewerage and water board. Hundreds of Millions in property damage in just a few hours and many people don’t have flood insurance.

I’m afraid that if the truth is ever revealed though, it could be devastating to the citizens....

Anyone got an update on street conditions? I work in the CBD but live uptown, normally take S Claiborne to and from. What’s the feasibility of getting home for lunch?

clean out catch basins. During mardis gras install protective coverings over storm drains. I've seen people push huge piles of beads down the drains.

Yeah I'm sure the beads are causing this flooding.
