Umm... there's already been 1 confirmed tornado multiple wind and hail reports and numerous severe/tornado warned cells. Hardly a bust

This reminds of April 2011. I was in Starkville during that outbreak and that area was like Alexandria area now. Under the gun every 20 fricking minutes. It isn't a good feeling

And my girlfriend just left New Orleans headed home to Memphis

CONFIRMED tornado on the ground, approaching Jena (yes, another one) from the SSE. Debris signature on radar.

just 1? high risk areas are usually associated with tons of reports of strong tornadoes, hence the HIGH RISK, i think they should've stuck with moderate, right now the period of tornadoes that consisted of the new orleans east tornado was worse, and that was an enhanced risk area

like the outbreak that consisted of the tuscaloosa tornado, that was a high risk situation

Looks like it was heading right to downtown jena where LA8 breaks off 84 and goes back toward Alexandria. Lot of businesses there.

Maybe you should find somewhere else to go complain.

Well, if that is the bar, then you would never see a high risk. That outbreak was one of the worst in recorded history. Also, the risk is issued before any tornadoes happen, so they don't yet know how many strong tornadoes there will be. So if there is a very significant risk of strong tornadoes, they have to pull the trigger on a high risk.

I'm looking at 4 current, active tornado warnings in that area. At least one major tornado has already come through the area and another (near Jena) is on the ground the moment.

ETA: Is this not active enough for you?

= bust

Luckily, the MCS is now surging across N. Louisiana and that should end the threat as the line moves through. The southern portion of the state will still be at risk into the overnight hours.
