They sky is screaming in south Lafayette. Seriously, sounds like a jet engine and it’s been going on for 15 minutes. What the hell is that?

And just like that the roaring is gone. Sounded like a huge flair or something coming from the SW. Lasted for about 20 minutes. Hearing a lot of sirens now, I wonder if something blew.

LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. (KLFY) The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office is reporting a gas blow out at Texas Gas Transmission in the 4000 block of Verot School Road.
According to Captain John Mowell, residents in the area are being advised to remain indoors.
He said no evacuations have been ordered and that the gas valve has been shut off.
Texas Gas has operators are on scene to resolve the issue, Mowell said.
No injuries have been reported.

Looking at some of the 00z guidance and the southern half of the MOD area looks the most concerning. However, with morning storms moving through, that is just a guess.

I was at MSY tonight and I reported 1/2 inch hail at the airport with ASOS. Lasted 3 minutes.

00z 3k NAM looks a lot like last Sunday with a cluster of storms capable of producing strong rotating updrafts moving through N. Louisiana and then out along and south of I20.
