The storm west of Meridian is really spinning.
ETA: Confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado on it.

Like... what's different this time?
If I had that answer, Id be in my way to or have a PhD bc of it.
Why some days everything spins and some days nothing seems to is one of the more frustrating questions in the field.

Heat and humidity the last few days have made the atmosphere very ripe for storm formation (increased CAPE). The front moving through is the mechanism needed to tap into that energy and get these really nasty cells firing off.
So the unusual heat / humidity we have (for this time of year) is going to bone us?

Yes I’m in Gonzales. Pretty nervous not going to lie.
Take the best shelter you can and wait for the all clear. Post back here as soon as you can.

Sky is dark, feels very much like the calm before the storm. Lightening strikes and thunder rolls off in the distant.

Madisonville people need to get in a safe spot. That is a tornado coming even though it’s not warned
