I see the cold front but I’m not seeing the timing of precipitation during the cold weather? Seems the precip moves out with the front before the cold reaches the area

Can't really say this far out, but it's not a huge stretch to mention Christmas '83.

I looked it up. Wow.

Christmas ‘89 was no joke either. Back when Mallards still migrated to Louisiana but the limit was like 2 plus a kicker. Sucked but in order to kill a pile you pretty much got an invite.

I think that cold of 1983 was the Christmas Eve that my Pops and Grandmother had to deal with a nearly frozen calf. They had a few cows at the time and one gave birth in the heart of that cold snap. The calf nearly froze. They had to bring it into my Grandmother's house. Her kitchen had a wall heater and linoleum floors. They cordoned that calf off in the kitchen with old towels and blankets. They kept it in the house through the coldest weather only taking it out to nurse.

I wasn't around then, but my sister was. They have a picture of her and that calf in the kitchen.

I was 9, but remember my dad and uncle under the house thawing out pipes Christmas morning.

My dad’s brother was in from Alaska that week and to this day we blame the freeze on them.

This was in the garden district in Baton Rouge.

I think 83 was when Perdido Bay froze to about 100 yards from the shore.

That's only logical.

If it happens this year we will blame it on tBoat.

I was in Florida for the big cold snap/ice event back in February (was that this year or last?) and I will be leaving Dec 26 and returning on the 31st so I fully expect a giant snow storm in that timeframe. Winter weather is my favorite so will surely miss it.

Not being a negative Nancy but I've fallen for the hype many times - I hope you're right.
