The debris signature is from something called the correlation coefficient. Basically it's trying to estimate the size and density of the stuff the radar is bouncing off of. Rain has a certain value and the different colors show differences between what the radar hits and typical rain.

So those blues and greens are saying something that's not water is up in the clouds

Can anyone provide an update on the location of the northshore tornado? I'm in Abita taking cover and wdsu has been focusing on the southshore.
