Considering it wasn't the shuttle, I can see how you think this.

Oh god, don't be that guy. I know nothing about NASA or the ships/shuttles outside of the movie I saw 15 years ago, it's just cool that he was there.
Got to be in the room when the President called and told them how proud he was of them.

Yet, everyone reading the thread knew what he was referencing

Do you not see how douchey you sound?
Ok the command module. I was just calling the whole thing a shuttle. I see the err in my ways.
My bad dude. I can take the word shuttle out of it and the story is unaffected.

Hmmm...so he's going to go with the old "hunting accident" ploy. Smart move by him.

I don't have a bad relationship with my father in law - we are just completely different. I don't think he particularly likes me - but it has to do more with we are financially stable and they are a wreck due to his mismanagement of money, gambling problem and ignorance at personal finance.
People don't like taking advice from their kids - he once asked my advice on a financial subject and it was completely opposite of what he wanted. He informed me that he was much older and experienced and I should listen to him. He proceeded to lose his arse in the exact way that I predicted. It took 13 years for him to get rid of the problem that occurred as well. My MIL told me that I was right but my FIL never admitted it, so he is resentful.
That decision probably cost him his retirement at a decent age.
I have a brother in law that is a straight turd though. Knowing all that has happened, he is still milking his parents for money. Found out recently that they are basically paying all his bills for him. This is more my MIL's problem than my FIL but its not helping a serious financial problem.
TLDR: My father in laws stupidity has resulted in them having less than $5000 saved for retirement and they are at retirement age.

I hate my FIL. He doesn’t stop talking and doesn’t listen to a word you say. Can’t stand being around him. But I tolerate him and just accepted that’s him and he ain’t changing. So I avoid him when I can and don’t let the way he acts bother me when I can’t. And I frick his daughter.

That's my MIL. Lawyer, doctor, mechanic. Goes to Dr. Then complains they are wrong and she knows.

No. My in-laws are cool as hell. Love 'em. Wish we could visit them more often tbh.
