I don't blame you one bit. I stopped associating with my extended family during my grandmother's final years. The way they treated her and how they nonetheless shunned her (unless there was a gift or money involved from her to them for a birthday or something) pisses me off so much and I really don't care to see them. My mother is insistent on me forgiving them, but frick that. Maybe I can one day, but it doesn't mean I need to associate with shitty people who showed their true colors during someone's roughest times.

I don't miss it, or my alcoholic uncles political ramblings.
