My mother is a bitter old count. And has been for 15 years or so.
No one likes her. Anything I try to do nice for her blows up in my face.
I walked outside a few minutes ago to help people load their cars. I walk back in to her attempting to convince people I have a drinking problem.
Her reasoning, I've been downing wine all morning and switched to beer when I ran out.
I had a single glass of wine with lunch and a beer after dessert.
Never mind that she mowed down a few xanex, valium, and lortabs just to "function".
I go because the family I like is there. When they aren't, we don't do thanksgiving.

We brought my African girlfriend, mullato son, plus my girlfriend’s brother who is in school at NC State to my mom and stepdad’s house in redneck North Florida. Perfect recipe for drama.
