Don’t worry.

Either in this region or another one far away from the USA, you will get the war you so desperately want.

Breach of cease-fire in eastern Ukraine. Both sides blame the other.

Personally I don't care who is to blame just as long as we stay the heck out of it. Enough of trying to be the world's police

This has been happening for years
From what I gather, the area this happened in has been peaceful since 2015.

My best friend is American but lives in Ukraine and is very connected to this with his current job.

He just told me that he can confirm 100% true that there was lots of artillery shelling, and the Russians hit a Ukraine preschool.

Odd thing to say. I don’t want a war. I’d like to see the Russians pull back like they said they were going to do.

Putin is the most powerful person in the world right now. Sad. I remember when the US president used to always be considered “the most powerful person in the world.”

Putin probably has more power individually than any US President has in a long time. I imagine Putin has more direct authority in Russia than the Constitution allows of the US President.

Every hour is a new Blinken warning about how invasion is imminent - I just don't get this

I think the Biden administration has actually done a good job in forecasting Russian pretenses for invasion, but at this point nothing is to be gained by ringing alarms every day. Just say "Our position hasn't changed and Russia knows the type of US and international consequences that will follow an incursion."

And for those convinced we're trying to manufacture war, I don't think this really makes that more likely. It sounds like it's just an administration desperate to be right one of these days because it needs a foreign policy win.

A little more info from my friend in Ukraine...

He also said the area where the preschool was hit was an area of Ukraine where most of them speak Russian and have previously voted to join Russia, so he said Russia will turn this into them being the victim where even though a Ukraine preschool was hit, Russia will say Ukraine is the perpetrator and hit an area of people who claim to be Russian.

But Russia says Ukraine fired first but they actually fired first and Ukraine responded with firing at their artillery positions. If this continues the next few days then it is a strong sign that Russia will use this to say they are attacking our people and provoking it and we need to help.

No, but they'd love nothing more than for hundreds of thousands of people to die so they can get a desperate boost in ratings.

If US news outlets can wag that dog we have bigger issues in the world.

Putin's plan has been known for months (years really) because it's such an old playbook.

Destabilize an area with a lot of citizens who are loyal to Russia

Have Russian backed separatists engage in prolonged conflict

Stage military action against separatists/supporters and/or engage Ukraine to try and get a reaction

Declare Ukraine is persecuting separatists as pretext for invasion

Of course, Ukraine is, in fact, hostile to the Russian speakers. Putin knows nobody will buy this but he doesn't care.

Or, it could be instigated by The Company...would not surprise me at all. There are so many possible scenarios such as who benefits by oil at $125 per?

Evacuations of villages in Donbas underway. Hasn’t happened in the 8 years since Russia first invaded.

No. There are multiple breaches of the cease-fire in eastern Ukraine every day.

There's been a British recon plane flying over all day as well. I haven't really paid much attention to this so it could be something that's been happening normally.
