Beef
Chicken
Vegetables
Rice
Bread
Water
Milk
That’s all it should be allowed for.

I thought so too, might be an odd shorthand for frozen breakfast items. If that is the case, I'd add it to my list of BS items. I'll negotiate with the other poster, I'd give them Maxwell House - frick buying them Community $$.
It may also be a 3 way tie

To be fair, that looks like the average American’s pantry.
And I’m someone who generally thinks food stamps should be used for the very basics.

How about eggs, muffins, potatoes?
Frozen breakfast stuff. You think the usual suspects on SNAP are actually going to prep real food when they can get shite that just needs warming? Basically everthing in the freezer section should be banned from SNAP too.

That list isn't as bad as I thought.
Definitely remove candy and sodas.
Eggs/muffins/potatoes being grouped is interesting.
Absolutely no fresh fruit on this list- which sucks because fresh fruit is a very easy on the go kind of snack that is healthy, too.

I disagree about that. Crab legs and high.end steak yes. But poor single mom with 3 or 4 kids that the dad left high and drynand the mom bust her arse to survive. Give the kids some snacks and candy at times. They are are kids

I mean...I don't really have a problem with pizza, ice cream and juice my guy

And anyone who disagrees has never seen a mother or father that bust there arse and does everything right and still cant make ends meet. Especially a young lady or woman that gets pregnant early and the man tells her to stay at home and take care of the kids. I got this this is whats bests for our children. She stops going to school college or quits her job and gives up her life to be a mother. I do agree on it if thats all thats being bought or excessive BS

You gonna complain about a fresh fruit? Who doesn't love watermelon?

The profit these companies are making off of liquid is incredible.
4 of the items are drink related and cost nothing to produce but can all have long lasting medical implications if you don't exercise etc.
These numbers are also skewed by cards that are sold for cash at 80%.

Frozen pizza is cheap and filling. I don't have a problem with that one.

Cheese at #5 is kind of crazy right?

Wait until you realize where a lot of EBT is spent. I fully agree some of those items should not be on there, but the most bullshite is that they are allowed to be used places like local convenience stores where the prices are inflated as hell.
The problem that is lobbied hard is that a lot of country stores and inner city convenience stores only have certain food items and that’s why EBT is allowed for those.

Look where their housing is situated. Corner stores are the closest to walk to if you don't have a vehicle.
The problem is grocery stores are closing due to theft in some of the bad neighborhoods increasing the convenience stores foot traffic.
its crazy

Unless they can consume it without cooking (fruit, nuts, milk) or they have to actually cook it, it shouldn’t be allowed. This is the way it used to be until the late 1980's or early 1990's, if I recall correctly.
To make it easy, let them only use it for items on the outside loop aisle, until you get to the drink coolers. That’s where it ends.
