Yea there’s around 8 names on that list that are creole(French) not Cajun

They also have one of the spanish names (Romero) on there as "cajun". To be fair as a kid I thought the Hidalgos, Romeros and Viators were cajun names and really, culturally, they were indistinguishable.

I'm surprised Hebert beat out Landry. You can't swing a dead cat anywhere in South La without hitting a Landry.

Dularge has a shite ton of Liners as well.

Dulac is Parfait, Billiots and Verdins.

i made the list.

i've met other people with my name outside of LA and TX, and they are usually from the northeast, places like maine. i guess that is just some of the acadians that didn't make it all the way down from nova scotia?

Was thinking the same thing. As well as lack of Gautreaux and Cheramie.

Late LSU professor Robert West penned a book in 1986 concerning this very topic. I helped him with the research (and of course as a student got no credit in the book).

In south Louisiana, or at least in Oakdale, Rodriquez is pronounced "Rode-riquez"

Do you think the creator of this list took that into consideration?

Yes, because the Acadian names are well researched/identifiable and are different than other French names not in the diaspora. Why assume the creator is a dumbass?
