Link is the Met's website.

LINK

Since all performances are cancelled, the Met is streaming opera every night. This week it is Wagner and tonight's performance is Siegfried. It is the third in the Ring series. It is 4 1/2 hours long but let's face it, you have nothing better to do.

Carmen or The Magic Flute.

Otherwise, gtfo.

It's fricking Wagner although the fact Nietzsche hated him may be a strike against him.

I do love a good aria. But my wife says opera stresses her out.

Damn. I didn't realize they had started the Ring Cycle. I caught Il Trovatore (awful staging, great singing) and La Traviata last week.

Paris Opera is also offering free streaming.

SO and I tuned in out of curiosity the other night and caught The Rhinegold. Mermaids and staging were kind of cool. Not sure I would ever be able to sit thru an entire perfomance in a theatre, but sitting in the comfort of sweats w/ adult bevs at home it was more compelling than I thought it would be.

I’m a Teutonophile and that’s a big “negative” from me.

Wagner meets none of my wants.

Singular Exception: The Wedding March at weddings.
