June 12 is Loving Day, a celebration marking the day the Supreme Court struck down state bans against interracial marriage.

quote:

The day is named for the monumental case, Loving v. Virginia, and the interracial couple at its center, Richard and Mildred Loving. The 1967 Supreme Court decision struck down 16 state bans on interracial marriage as unconstitutional. "Over the long haul, it changes America," said Peter Wallenstein, author of "Race, Sex, and the Freedom to Marry: Loving v. Virginia. "It’s just a stunning case."

Cool. It’s BS the government was banning its people in the first place.

Now, that was a truly racist law.
There are no other ones anything like that now, even though the CNNs will try to convince you otherwise.

An abominable day that doomed millions. Nearly 30 years of this interacial marriage crap and I still can’t get her to put the toilet roll on correctly or buy the right toothpaste and she’s always yapping about me pissing on the toilet seat. Not sure what the court was thinking. Bastards.

Would have been more appropriate to link a BBC article on this subject

What does British Broadcasting have to do with this? Oh, and why do you insecure white boy types have a fascination with bbc? Stop being gay.
