I'm in Germany right now. It was mentioned in mass this morning, but otherwise it is all quiet.

If not for the U.S. Army, we’d all be speaking German right about now.

The Great War is available to watch on PBS. If you’re looking for something to do today it’s a great show.

You’re thinking WW2 not WW1 and Hitler wasn’t going to invade the US.

It honestly probably would have been better for the world had Germany won in 1915 using the Schlieffen plan.

I remember, it was in all of the papers.

Grandpa (paternal) was training at Fort Sill,OK when it happened.

Grandpa (maternal) was a young apprentice in the B&O shops in Cumberland, MD.

Visit Verdun if you ever have the chance.

They shall not grow old
As we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning
We will remember them
Lest we forget.
