Listing your pronouns on your e-mail is equivalent to putting bumper stickers on your car. It is a sign that you aren't someone I want to hang out with, and I appreciate the warning.

At tech firms, you have men married with kids listing “his” pronouns. It’s not just weirdos anymore.

No one in my industry, earthmoving heavy equipment, uses pronounces in their correspondence. Really the only time I see this practice is on resumes. And even then it’s not often. And when I do see it, I immediately file the resume in the appropriate place.

Anyone who does this has lost sight of their priorities and can't be taken seriously.

The main culprit for me is social media I feel like.

Who is applying for a job in that industry and doing this? Lol

I see it mostly in kids fresh from college.

You should bring them in for an interview and ask them about it and tell them someone that’s not as qualified is getting the job over them because of that.

I have far more important things to do than waste my time on them.

Nailed it. 2020 is when I lost all faith in humanity.

100%.
It's a mental problem - for them. (and their fricked up parents)
You got a dick - you're a dude.
You got a pussy - you're a girl.
The older I get, the more I keep things simple.

If I see them anywhere I'm out. Absolute dumbest thing in the history of dumb things

I agree. But it has moved beyond the “they/them” whatever nonsense. It’s just regular women listing she/her

100% avoid the mentally ill like the plague. All they can do is harm to you.

For me, it’s an automatic full dismissal of anything that person has to say or contribute when I see that.
This. When I'm looking at resumes I immediately shitcan any with those ridiculous pronouns on them. They are either too weak to stand up to say they aren't participating in such foolishness or they are so overly sensitive (and likely overly dramatic) that they've bought into it and thus support it.
I want nor need neither of those types working for me.
Once the job market tightens back up, I expect such ridiculousness will disappear as job seekers re-learn how to compete on actual work ability rather than just keeping up with the latest social awareness fad.

I associate with NO ONE who does that, and never will
Posted on 2/23/24 at 12:42 pm to TackySweater
I note it, but a lot of these people have been coerced into adding pronouns.

As little as I care about the alphabet soup community and their pronouns, I care even less about the pronouns of straight people pandering to said alphabet soup community. To me, those people are even more stupid and insufferable.
