Damn. He was just a bit older than me. Mental illness is one of the worst things a person can live with. Also excruciating for the family to have to watch their brother/sister/parent/child struggle through daily life.
I'm not much for government spending but I'd like to see a sizable chuck dedicated to all facets of mental health.

We never can control all the things our loved ones do and I'm sure the last thing he would've wanted was for you and your wife to blame yourselves but the pit of depression prevents people from thinking clearly.

I know it may seem hollow now, but please try not to blame yourself for this. When trying to help people we love who are dealing with mental illness, there is only so much we can do. And even when we do everything humanly possible, something like this can still happen.
