Not really....I just think it's silly to think any of us actually know what happened. Therefore there isn't a wrong answer.

I think we can say we know what happened because of all the witnesses and crew that were rescued and reported what happened. Are we really demanding more evidence to be able to agree that an iceberg sunk the titanic?

Side question: Are you a religious person? Christian perhaps?

No I'm agreeing it was probably an Iceberg....some here disagree and say ice can't sink metal.

The titanic sank because of Rose's infidelity.

Well, yeah, but everyone knows also that metal doesn’t float so the TITANIC was a witch and they burned her.

Director Cameron actually tested the theory of wether more life boats would have made a difference. It actually would have caused more deaths.

Why do you say that?

More lifeboats and a more organized crew who knew what to do in emergencies would have saved more lives.

Also...if the SS Californian wouldn’t have ignored the white rocket flares that Titanic crew sent into the sky for help, more would have lived. SS Californian was only like 5 miles away from Titanic before it sank.

ETA: Currently reading a book about Titanic. Pretty interesting book.

What a terrible analogy. That's like saying, blow the house as hard as you can. Did you cause damage, if course not. Hurricanes are not real

You make an interesting point, sir. We need to get Yogagirl's opinion on this, vitally important, matter.

Typical “company man” behavior to try and deflect us from finding the truth. What scares you about discovering the truth in our nations sordid history?

Also reading that the Titanic would have possibly fared better if it hit the iceberg head on instead of them trying to avoid it. Wouldn’t have done the damage to the side.

Titanic would be damaged but would still be afloat and able to limp along to New York.

Don’t forget....the original plans had the watertight bulkhead walls much higher . Those were ditched in favor of a larger more luxurious first class area (I think the dining area). Same reason less lifeboats. Too many lifeboats would have blocked the view of first class passengers.

Also...a simple short lifeboat drill at the beginning of the voyage would have tremendously helped as well. No one knew exactly where to go.

The Iceburg acted alone. He was going to be in the path of the Titanic, had an opportunity and took it. No conspiracy

I've always been fascinated by Titanic and the fact that I saw it in theaters it makes it more sentimental to me.

You know it was a real event not just a love story movie, right?

Wouldn’t some of the survivors have said something had it not been an iceberg?
